Colon Cancer Screening, Now Just a Blood Draw Away
Drawn to Helping Others now offers the Shield™ blood test — an FDA-approved, non-invasive way to screen for colorectal cancer, completed right at your appointment.
A Simple Blood Test for Colon Cancer Screening
The Shield™ blood test is the first and only FDA-approved blood test for primary colorectal cancer screening. It looks for changes in cell-free DNA in your blood that may indicate the presence of colorectal cancer or precancerous growths.
For people who have put off screening due to the discomfort or inconvenience of a colonoscopy or stool-based test, Shield offers a simple, convenient alternative that can be completed during a routine blood draw.
- FDA-approved primary screening option
- No special prep, no time off work or school
- Completed with a simple blood draw
- Covered by Medicare

Receive Your Results
Your sample is securely processed, and results are delivered to you and your provider. A positive result should be followed by a colonoscopy.
Is Shield Right for You?
Shield is intended for colorectal cancer screening in individuals at average risk for the disease who are age 45 or older. It is not intended for individuals at high risk for colorectal cancer.
Shield is not a replacement for diagnostic colonoscopy or surveillance colonoscopy in high-risk individuals. Patients with a positive result should be followed by a colonoscopy. Talk to your doctor to determine if Shield is right for you.
